Artificial intelligence skills are in high demand these days, with some companies offering salaries in the hundreds of thousands of dollars to employees who are experts in the rapidly developing technology.

For those looking to break into what could be a very lucrative career in AI, a new study from software development firm Vention shows which US colleges are offering bachelor’s degrees with the best odds of landing a job. fresh out of school – and the potential for greater. paychecks.

Vention analyzed the most recent graduation data from the U.S. Department of Education and found that of the 1,790 computer science degrees nationwide, 294 produced graduates who were employed one year and four years after leaving school.

The researchers found that only 23 of those schools had median earnings data available for the fourth year after graduation, ranking them from highest to lowest to reveal the highest-paying degrees for an AI career out of 100 % employment.

Cal Poly’s San Luis Obispo campus topped the list, blowing all other schools out of the water with an average graduate salary of $181,838 four years after graduation.

2. Wake Forest University

In second place was Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where the average salary four years after graduation is $114,622.

Trinity University in San Antonio landed in third place with an average salary of $108,840 with their computer science-related degrees after four years.

New York’s Clarkson University offers the fourth highest paying degree for AI careers, with graduates earning an average salary of $104,005.

Rounding out the top five is Knox College in Illinois, where computer science graduates earn an average salary of $95,399 four years after graduation.
